Special Taps
These unique groups of tools all have a specific application where they are most suitable. As a company who specializes in custom taps we have chosen to continue to offer these both as standard and when needed special to meet the customer’s need. Each has a purpose related either to the thread form as in the case of Acme, National Special or Whitworth, or in the design making the application of the specific style the most efficient for the purpose of tool life performance.
Triple Crown Taps
Triple Crown taps are available in spiral point and spiral flute styles for a variety of difficult materials. The combination of flute design, particle metal and close tolerances produce superior performance at high speeds. Chip evacuation and thread quality are enhanced with the oxide treatment on these taps.
SuperTuf Material Specific Taps: Extend Tool Life & Increase Profitability
Super-Tuf includes standard machine screw, fractional and metric sizes of high performance taps for both through and bottom tapping.
Regal can provide their unique Super-Tuf spiral point and spiral flute tools to tap the following materials; medium and high carbon steels, austenitic, martensitic, duplexing and precipitation hardening stainless, nickel, copper nickel and nickel chrome alloys and commercially pure alpha and beta titanium alloys.
Regal has used computer modeling to produce complex flute and point designs to provide excellent shear cutting, while producing strong core sections for strength. Proprietary particle metallurgy, has given us the best combination of substrate and design.
Unique to Regal is their ability to ship Super-Tuf special taps conforming to standard blank dimensions with coating in the time it takes competitors to process the order.
